Brad Fitzgerald

Director

Brad is one of our Directors. He works with clients facing high-stakes legal issues, whether defending criminal charges, applying for or responding to domestic violence matters, prosecuting or responding to disciplinary proceedings, addressing complex mental health law concerns, or challenging government decisions through administrative and tribunal processes.

Brad brings a practical, solution-focused approach shaped by experience in senior legal roles, including as General Counsel at the Legal Services Commission, at times acting as the Legal Services Commissioner, and Legal Manager in the Office of the Chief Psychiatrist at Queensland Health. 

Brad is admitted to practice in the High Court of Australia and the Supreme Court of Queensland. 

In addition to his legal practice, he serves as Chair of a not-for-profit board in the health and disability sector and holds positions as a Non-Executive Director and Company Secretary on other community-focused boards. He further convenes and lectures in Mental Health Law at Griffith University Law School.

Brent is a one of our Directors practising predominantly in family and regulatory law. Known for his practical problem-solving and compelling advocacy, Brent is able to handle legal challenges both in and out of court, making him an invaluable ally for our clients.

Before co-founding Clements Fitzgerald Lawyers, Brent held a pivotal role at the Legal Services Commission, where he led the Commission’s litigation team. His prior experience in family and estate practice showcased his ability to offer effective and empathetic legal services. Brent's approach to each case is marked by understanding and sensitivity to clients’ needs and legal aims.

Brent's academic background, featuring a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Queensland, provides him with a thorough understanding of both legal and commercial dimensions of a matter.

Brent is admitted to practice in the High Court of Australia and the Supreme Court of Queensland.

Gabbi Davis

Gabbi is our Senior Associate and the "boots on the ground" for all matters family, regulatory, and general practice.

Gabbi brings broad and versatile legal experience to Clements Fitzgerald Lawyers, having advised international clients, professionals, and government bodies across employment law, anti-discrimination law, and complex property and business transactions. She has managed major litigation from inception through to resolution and supported businesses through every stage, from formation to final sale.

Gabbi is known for her sharp drafting skills, transparent communication style, and deep sense of client responsibility. She takes pride in keeping clients informed, engaged, and confident - ensuring they not only understand their legal position now but also what’s ahead. Gabbi’s diligence is driven by genuine care and she treats every matter with the attention and respect it deserves, knowing that behind every file is a real person navigating something important.

Emma Toledo

Emma is our Paralegal who assists our team broadly across the firm but has a particular focus in the Criminal and Domestic Violence practice areas.

Emma has an enthusiasm for the client experience and brings her wealth of experience within the administration field to everything she does. Her involvement in various professional sectors over the past 8 years has provided invaluable experience with a variety of people, processes and challenges that helps her adapt and approach problem solving with confidence. 

Emma completed a Bachelor of Laws with honours at the Queensland University of Technology in 2024 and is currently completing her Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice from the College of Law intending to apply for admission as a legal practitioner in the near future.

Emma regularly appears before courts throughout the South East Queensland region representing the firm as a law clerk in criminal matters. Her pursuit of a career in criminal law is fuelled by her intrinsic belief that everyone deserves competent and rigorous legal representation underpinned by her desire to uphold the integrity of the justice system.

She is heavily involved in her local community and finds purpose in helping and assisting others to fulfill their full potential. She brings this attitude to every task she puts her hand to, enabling her to build empathetic and professional relationships with clients.

William is our Law Clerk. He provides essential support across a broad range of practice areas at the firm while pursuing his Bachelor of Laws at the Queensland University of Technology. With a keen interest in criminal and administrative law, William is passionate about contributing to a fair and accessible legal system.

Known for his warm and approachable nature, William is a strong communicator and an empathetic listener - skills that help him build positive and professional relationships with both clients and colleagues. He takes pride in ensuring that every client feels heard and supported throughout their legal journey.

William brings strong legal research, drafting, and organisational skills to the team, with an eye for detail and a proactive attitude. He is eager to continue developing his practical legal experience alongside his studies, with the long-term goal of becoming a solicitor.
